Dr. Summer Kassmel, DDS
Dr. Summer Kassmel and her husband, Tom, have two children, Siena and Cash, as well as a labradoodle named Hannah. She enjoys hiking, reading, and time with her family. Family camping is a favorite activity every summer.
She attended Fort Hays State University before attaining her doctorate from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2002. She practiced in Greeley, Colorado, before making the Vail Valley her permanent home.
She has practiced in Eagle, Colorado, since 2004 and enjoys the small town atmosphere and community. Dr. Kassmel is a member of the American Dental Association, Colorado Dental Association, Western Colorado Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry, as well as local study groups. She is a Preferred Level Invisalign Provider and has over 500 hours of continuing education hours. She has attended Dawson Center for Advanced Studies as well as TruDenta Occlusal and Headache Academy.
Dr. Kassmel is committed to treating each patient as an individual and helping people achieve their goals for a healthy and beautiful smile.
Melanie Albers, DDS
Dr. Melanie Albers is originally from Nebraska. Dr. Albers and her husband, Nate, have two children, Lauryn and Reid, as well as two dogs, Cleo and Artie. She enjoys spending time with her family, fishing and hiking, and reading.
She attended college at Truman State University and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She attended dental school at the University of Nebraska Medical Center-College of Dentistry, where she received her degree in 2002. Before moving to Eagle in 2014, she practiced dentistry in Sidney, NE and Springfield, MO.She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, and the Western Colorado Dental Association. Dr. Albers has extensive training in pediatric dentistry and nitrous sedation. She has attended over 400hours of continuing education courses, including endodontics and the restoration of implants.
Dr. Albers always enjoys seeing her patients and giving them back the form and function they may have lost due to wear, broken or missing teeth.
Debbie Dodson, Practice Director
Debbie moved from Texas to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law who ve in the Vail area. She and her husband, Jon, have 3 children and 3 grandchildren, all located in the Vail Valley. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading
Sarah Love, Patient Care Coordinator
Sarah has been with Castle Peak Dental since 2015. She moved here from Texas with her husband, Cagan to be closer to her family. They have two boys, Lincoln and Griffin. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Some of her hobbies include arts and crafts, watching movies, and playing card games.
She began her career in dentistry several years before as a dental assistant, and since has moved to the administrative side of the field. She has received countless hours of continuing education training in improving the customer service experience as well as extensive training in dental insurance and utilization. Sarah is excited to be part of the team at Castle Peak, and is looking forwarding to meeting all of the patients!
Amy Maryhew, RDH
Amy has been in the valley since 1999 and is married to Jesse Meryhew. They have a daughter, Jacey, who loves dancing and outdoor adventure. The family dog is Ginger, a Wheaton terrier. They love boating, all winter sports and spending time with friends and family.
Amy is a 1997 graduate of Colorado Northwestern Community College where she received her degree in Dental Hygiene. Upon graduation, Amy moved to the Vail Valley where she has been working in private practice ever since. Amy is an active member of the American Dental Hygienists’ Association. Amy has served as Vice President for the Colorado Dental Hygienists’ Association, and represented the Western Slope Dental Hygienists’ Society on the Board of Trustees. Amy has been on the Advisory Committee for Colorado Northwestern Community College since 1998. Amy is exceptional at educating patients on whole health and wellness, which includes customized plans for each patient’s oral health. She has extensive training in periodontal disease and utilizing diode lasers to improve healing. Amy maintains her continuing education by attending over 30 hours of coursework every year. She has been in hygiene for over 20 years and maintains her passion for helping people attain oral health and the beautiful smile they deserve!
Jamie Bair, RDH
Jamie and her family have been long time locals to the valley. Jamie is very family oriented and loves spending time with her loving parents, siblings, and wonderful nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Eagle Valley High School in 2010 and followed her passion of athletics to play basketball at Colorado Northwestern Community College and then moved on to compete in throwing for the Chadron State track team in Nebraska. She then coached at Eagle Valley for the Freshman women’s basketball team and the throwers for track. She then gave that up to follow her dream to become a Dental Hygiene. Jamie started with Castle Peak Dental full time in 2017. She is excited to be part of the team and be able to meet new people and help educate and provide preventative and therapeutic services to better the communities overall oral health.
Brittany Lopez, Dental Assistant
Brittany is a local to the Vail Valley, and has been a team member with Castle Peak Dental since 2014. She graduated Battle Mountain High School in 2008 and from Intellitec Medical Institute in Colorado Springs, as a certified dental assistant in 2010. She moved back to the Vail Valley where she was born and raised, to be closer to her family. She has a daughter, Janaiya, and enjoys outdoor activities, spending time with family and friends, and making crafts.
She has extensive training in Invisalign clear aligner therapy, Trios scanning, as well as many continuing education hours to further her expertise in the field of dentistry. Brittany enjoys building relationships with the team and patients at Castle Peak Dental, and is exceptional with assisting in pediatric procedures.
Racheal Morgan, Dental Assistant
Racheal has lived in the Vail Valley most of her life. She graduated from the Vail Valley Dental Assisting School in 2015 and since then has received extensive training in Invisalign aligner therapy and Trios scanning technology. She has taken numerous hours of continuing education hours in order to better serve patients. Racheal is an exceptional assistant in multiple procedures, and truly enjoys making patients feel comfortable during their visit.
